Dale has worked for the Will County 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System since September of 2003. Originally hired as a Police and Fire Records Manager he was promoted to Network Engineer in 2005, IT Manager in 2007 and to Operations Manager in 2011.
His responsibilities as Operations Manager include the administration of mission critical 9-1-1 communications services in collaboration with the Chief Administrator. The Operations Manager reports to the Chief Administrator and serves as a member of the Management team. The Operations Manager possesses strong leadership and communications skills in leading and coordinating a highly accomplished team of 9-1-1 professionals.
The Operations Manager works to ensure organizational effectiveness by providing leadership in the prioritization and delivery of multiple projects and programs within the 9-1-1 Administrative Office (IT, GIS, CAD, Records) that interface with the Voice and Data infrastructure and Systems.
Working with the Chief Administrator, the Operations Manager also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. The Operations Manager is the liaison between the PSAP’s and public safety agencies to the 9-1-1 staff.
Previously to working for Will County 9-1-1, Dale served and a Fire Captain/Paramedic for 12 years, Police Sergeant/Technical Services supervisor for 13 years and a 9-1-1 Telecommunicator for the past 20 years.
In addition to receiving his Bachelor Degree from Lewis University and graduating from Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, Dale has his NENA 9-1-1 professional certification as an Emergency Number Professional (ENP) and an Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD). Dale has served on National and Local 9-1-1 committees with the most recent being NENA’s NG9-1-1 System Management Work Group Committee, Will County Tactical interoperable Communications Plan committee (TICP), Integrated Technical Workshop Committee and a member of the Motorola Public Safety Agency Executive Committee.
Dale holds numerous technical certifications from Microsoft, Citrix, Intrado and Motorola Solutions. His most recent certification is from Motorola Solutions where he is a certified Premier One CAD Trainer. Dale continues to keep his technical and operational skills relevant by attending technical and operational training on most of the 9-1-1 mission critical applications supported by the Emergency Telephone System staff.
Along with his work in 9-1-1, Police and Fire Service, Dale worked as a 9-1-1 Telecommunicator for Eastern Will County Communications Center until 2017. He is certified as a Microsoft System Engineer and is assigned to the Telecommunicator Emergency Response Team (TERT)as a Team Leader and the Assistant State Coordinator. Dale also serves as the Assistant Director for the Village of Beecher Emergency Management Agency.
