The Will County 9-1-1 System Office supports and manages the administration of the county-wide Enhanced 9-1-1 system. Serving the more than 685,000 Will County residents, this Enhanced 9-1-1 system is one of the largest operating in Illinois.

Welcome to the Will County 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System website. Through this website we would like you to know all there is to know about 9-1-1. We hope to provide you with information, education, and resources to make your home, school, and business a safer place for you and your family.

The Will County 9-1-1 System takes great pride in serving the residents and businesses of our county and serving as the 9-1-1 lifeline for our emergency first responders. In partnership with eight 9-1-1 public safety answering points located across the county in: Bolingbrook, Crete, Frankfort, Joliet, Plainfield, Romeoville, and Steger, we are dedicated to keeping Will County safe. Together we coordinate the fire, medical, and police response of our 55 emergency services user agencies and assist them in protecting life and preserving property.

By implementing new technology with state-of-the-art communications equipment, along with extensive training programs, we are embracing the challenges brought about by the needs of the growing and progressive county we serve. As leaders in our profession, I am extremely proud of our highly trained and dedicated team of professionals who are committed to providing the highest standard of vital emergency communications service.

Our Mission

The mission of the Will County 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System is fulfilled by:

  • Serving as the vital link between the citizen and public safety agencies,
  • Providing accurate identification of the citizen's location and facilitating the public safety response,
  • Constantly delivering quick and accurate activation of high quality, efficient, and cost-effective public safety services, and
  • Providing communications support and coordination for all participating public safety and associated agencies.
